So would you recommend ayahuasca to women who are considering doing some deep work? Some people might feel scared about doing something like this. They've been told that you throw up. They've been told that you go into the pits of darkness. I've heard some people have some fear around this. How would you help somebody to understand, you know, how to address that fear? And what could you say that would help people to feel less scared?

Fear is part of it. Fear is part of the medicine. It's a way of showing respect as well and it's normal because it's like jumping into the abyss. Of course it's scary but it's about knowing that once you jump the hands of God will be holding you and it's an inner trust that ayahuasca is truly the medicine of forgiveness, the medicine

of love and she's gonna be there holding for us. Of course sometimes it's like a grandmother that she slaps because we need to wake up certain things but it's everything is with love. It's okay to be afraid but it's better to do it with fear than not doing it at all because we also break the habits and the system of the brain that doesn't allow us to become stronger.

Pamela Dharani was asked about the fear people carry before a ceremony: that you throw up, and that you go into the pits of darkness.

Her answer is that fear is part of it, and part of the medicine. It is a way of showing respect, and it is normal, because it is like jumping into the abyss.

She describes the trust underneath it: that once you jump, the hands of God will be holding you, and that Ayahuasca is the medicine of forgiveness and the medicine of love. Sometimes, she says, it is like a grandmother who slaps because we need to wake certain things up, but everything is with love.

Her conclusion: it is okay to be afraid, but it is better to do it with fear than not to do it at all, because that is also how we break the habits and the system of the brain that do not allow us to become stronger.

The full answer is in the video above, and the transcript is underneath it.
