Grounding what moved
Somewhere for It to Land
Insight that stays in your head does not change much. Integration is how it gets into your life.
Guided somatic work
Working with the body
Shannon is trained in Somatic Integration and 500hr Art-Psychotherapy, and works trauma-informed.
The sessions are gentle and slow. Breath, attention, movement, noticing where things sit in the body. Nothing dramatic, nothing forced.
They sit after the ceremony in the week, when there is most to work with.
Sharing circles
Saying it out loud, to women who were there
The circle is where things get spoken. You are never made to speak, and passing is completely normal.
What women consistently say afterwards is that hearing someone else describe their own night made their own make sense.
Silence
A dedicated morning with no input
One morning of the week is silent. No phone, no talking, no plan.
For a lot of women it is the first genuinely quiet morning in years, and it tends to be where the week consolidates.
After you fly home
The group integration call
One call after you are back in ordinary life, when the glow has worn off and the inbox has refilled.
You come back to the circle, hear where everyone has landed, and get support with whatever has surfaced since.
There is also a WhatsApp group for each year, which many women keep using long after.
In their words
Women who walked through
“The retreat gave me a sisterhood I didn’t know I was missing.”
I feel nourished, full of love, and very relaxed. The quality of women who led and attended were full of wisdom and personality.
The dynamic at the end, filled with harmony, love, and connection, illustrated the retreat’s essence perfectly.
If you are feeling stuck, broken, exhausted, or simply in need of refuge and connection, go to the Portals Retreat. It’s a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with your wholeness.

Questions
The things women ask us
It means working with what surfaced in the body rather than only talking about it in your head. Breath, attention and slow movement, guided by Shannon, who is trained in Somatic Integration and works trauma-informed.
Talking matters too, and the sharing circles are for exactly that. Somatic work is about noticing where something sits in your body and letting it settle there, which is a different process than describing it out loud.
Insight that stays in your head rarely changes very much. The days after the ceremony, and the group call once you are home, are where what came up actually gets a chance to become something you live differently.
You sit with the other women and anyone who wants to speaks about their night. Passing is completely normal, and several women say that hearing someone else describe their experience is what made their own make sense.
No. Portals is a ceremonial and educational retreat, not a medical or therapeutic service, and the somatic sessions are not therapy or treatment for any condition. They are a guided space to notice and settle what came up during the week.
The group integration call is timed for exactly that point, once ordinary life has restarted. Beyond that, there is a WhatsApp group for each year's women that many keep using long after the call.
